Small Update, Big Progress

godzillabusinessHey there family, friends, and foes! Welcome. Initially, we were planning for this week to have some mondo updates with plenty of images, but we couldn't quite coordinate things that way. Rather than move ahead with it and show you stuff that isn't up to snuff, we're going to suck it up, take this week as a visual letdown, and work toward accomplishing our goal for next week's update. Anyway, let's at least chat about what's happened this past week, shall we?

We have gotten in even more enemies, but because they are spoilers (boss enemies), we're not going to show them off here. Guess you'll just have to wait to see them when you fight them! You'll notice that this is a recurring theme this week; stuff has happened, but we can't actually show any of it!

So, aside from enemies, we've made more headway with the battle system! We received a slew of battle animations from our artist buddy taking care of those and they look great! Quick, yet flashy. Look forward to seeing them incorporated into the battle system shortly, and videos will follow suit. We still need to link functions to all the menu options in battle, as well as some placement tweaks for damage output, scale of the girls vs. the enemies, and so on. Once those are set, we'll dive into the nitty gritty of enemy AI, strengths/susceptibility logic, and other mechanic features.

Yesterday, we received a new version of our internal level editor! Now we can create the dungeons and easily drop wall textures on both sides, even if they're two different textures. Again, it's nothing we can really show off, but it's a big step toward building out the levels with ease and with polish. Once we get enough wall, floor, and ceiling textures, we're basically set to build out a dungeon that we'll fill up with 3D objects…

Sorry we don't have any pretty pictures this time around, but we still think it's worth telling you all what's been going on! Next week should be a lot more action-packed with visual punch, so we'll see you then!

  1. Although there is no screenshots from the game, but it is still a great update. Can’t wait for the next update to see how the game will look like with the new stuff used.
